Ground-Floor Opportunity | Work Directly With the Founder | AI-Assisted Development
BURTZ Company LLC
GEORGIA RESIDENTS ONLY — MUST CURRENTLY LIVE IN GEORGIA
This is a primarily remote position with occasional in-person meetings in the Atlanta/Gwinnett County area. We are seeking an individual developer, not an agency. Please do not apply if you live outside Georgia.
We're Building Something Different
BURTZ is a modern digital marketing company helping service-based businesses grow through high-performing websites, lead generation, AI, and technology.
Founded by Ryan Burton, a marketing entrepreneur with more than 30 years of experience and a successful company exit, we're building a company around a simple philosophy:
Build great websites. Keep them working. Generate leads. Take care of customers.
We're assembling a small team of talented people who enjoy collaborating, embrace modern technology, and take pride in getting things done.
The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced, hands-on WordPress Developer to work directly with the founder on website development, hosting, migrations, troubleshooting, and ongoing improvements.
We want someone who's technically capable, dependable, and comfortable working independently—but who also genuinely enjoys collaborating, exchanging ideas, and solving problems together.
Someone who's confident without ego, open to feedback, and focused on practical solutions.
We value people who get things done without making simple problems complicated.
This is an ongoing, part-time contractor opportunity, initially requiring approximately 10 hours per week, with potential for increased hours or a future full-time position.
What You'll Do
- Build, customize, launch, and maintain professional WordPress websites.
- Create mobile-friendly, conversion-focused websites that generate leads.
- Work with Elementor, themes, plugins, PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Manage WP Engine hosting, website migrations, DNS, SSL, staging, and deployments.
- Troubleshoot technical issues, plugin conflicts, performance problems, and broken functionality.
- Maintain backups, security, updates, and reliable recovery procedures.
- Ensure website forms, tracking, and integrations function properly.
- Translate design references and branding into attractive, functional websites.
- Use Cursor, ChatGPT, Claude, or comparable AI-assisted development tools.
- Help establish simple, reliable workflows for collaborating on website projects without overwriting each other's changes.
What We're Looking For
- Strong professional WordPress development experience.
- Experience with Elementor and managed WordPress hosting, preferably WP Engine.
- Solid knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Proven ability to migrate, troubleshoot, launch, and maintain websites.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools and version-control practices.
- Good visual judgment and an understanding of effective website design.
- Appreciation for website performance, reliability, and lead generation.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- A collaborative attitude, flexibility, accountability, and a genuine willingness to learn.
We appreciate people who bring ideas, make thoughtful recommendations, and enjoy figuring things out together. You don't need to have every answer, but you should know how to find one.
Our Culture — Family First
Family comes first. People matter. Work should be enjoyable.
We're building websites, not performing brain surgery. We take our clients seriously, but we don't believe in creating unnecessary emergencies or sacrificing family life over ordinary deadlines.
If something important comes up with your family, take care of it. We'll communicate, adjust priorities, and work through it together.
We believe in mutual respect, kindness, flexibility, accountability, and having some fun along the way.
We want BURTZ to be a place where talented people feel appreciated, trusted, and genuinely enjoy the people they work with.
Why Join BURTZ?
This is a genuine ground-floor opportunity to work directly with an experienced founder and help shape how a growing digital marketing company builds and manages websites.
You'll have a voice in technical decisions, contribute ideas, and help establish efficient development workflows.
We're looking for a long-term working relationship with someone who wants to grow alongside the business.
The position is primarily remote, with flexible scheduling, approximately 10 hours per week initially, and occasional in-person collaboration in the Atlanta/Gwinnett County area.
A Note From the Founder
Over more than 30 years in marketing and business, I've worked with some incredibly talented people.
I've learned that the best people aren't always those with the biggest titles or flashiest resumes.
They're the people you can count on. They know their craft, solve problems, communicate, take pride in their work, and are enjoyable to work alongside.
I enjoy being involved in website development myself, and I'm looking for someone who can complement my strengths, bring their own expertise, and help us accomplish more together.
If that sounds like you, I'd genuinely like to hear from you.
How to Apply
You must currently reside in Georgia and be available for occasional in-person meetings in the Atlanta/Gwinnett County area.
Please submit your resume and examples of WordPress websites you've developed, maintained, or improved.
You're welcome to include a brief note about your experience with Elementor, WP Engine, Cursor, AI-assisted development, or website migrations.
I'll personally review applications. If your experience looks like a good fit, I'll send you a scheduling link for a brief introductory video meeting directly with me.
We're looking for a capable, dependable Georgia-based developer who wants to become a trusted long-term partner and help us build something great.
