Senior Mainframe Full Stack Developer – COBOL, DB2 & VSAM

C2C Jersey City, NJ - Onsite Visa: US CitizenGreen CardGC-EADH1BH4-EADTNEAD Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Senior Mainframe Developer with strong hands-on expertise in COBOL, DB2, VSAM, and Changeman. The ideal candidate will have experience designing and developing Mainframe applications, enhancing existing programs to support new business requirements, creating DB2 tables and VSAM files, and performing data validation. The role also requires detailed impact analysis documentation, strong analytical skills, and experience working in an Agile environment. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, maintain, and enhance Mainframe applications using COBOL, DB2, and VSAM. Modify existing COBOL programs to accommodate new business logic and changing requirements. Develop new COBOL programs to validate data, retrieve information from existing DB2 tables, and support business processes. Create and maintain DB2 tables and database objects based on application requirements. Create and manage VSAM files to store and process data as required. Perform detailed impact analysis for application changes, documenting findings, recommendations, dependencies, risks, and action plans. Analyze existing applications and data structures to identify the impact of proposed changes. Use Changeman for source code version control, change management, and controlled deployments. Troubleshoot application defects, data issues, and production problems, ensuring timely resolution. Participate in Agile ceremonies, collaborate with business analysts and technical teams, and support testing and implementation activities. Prepare and maintain technical documentation, program specifications, and implementation plans. Required Qualifications 10 years of experience in Mainframe application development and maintenance. Strong hands-on experience with COBOL programming, including developing new programs and modifying existing applications. Proficiency in DB2, including SQL, data retrieval, table creation, and data validation. Experience creating and maintaining VSAM files and working with VSAM data structures. Hands-on experience with Changeman for Mainframe change and version management. Experience performing application impact analysis and preparing detailed technical documentation. Understanding of Agile development methodologies and software development practices. Strong problem-solving, analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
