Good front-end development is about more than making a page look right. It requires sound technical decisions, consistent performance and an understanding of how people interact with digital products. We are looking for a Senior Front-End Developer in Waukesha, WI, to take ownership of complex interface development and contribute to the technical direction of our web applications.

In this position, you will lead the development of front-end features, establish reusable component patterns and work closely with product designers, back-end engineers and project stakeholders. You will also review existing applications, address technical limitations and help improve development standards across projects.

The role suits an experienced developer who can work independently, make informed architectural decisions and support other developers through technical guidance.

Areas of Responsibility

• Lead the development of complex, responsive web applications using modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Design scalable front-end architecture and establish reusable component structures.
• Build and maintain application features using React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML and CSS.
• Evaluate technical requirements and recommend suitable approaches for interface implementation.
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers to translate product concepts into practical, accessible interfaces.
• Integrate front-end applications with APIs, backend services and external platforms.
• Identify performance limitations and improve rendering efficiency, loading speed and application responsiveness.
• Establish and maintain front-end coding standards, development patterns and documentation.
• Review code submissions, identify potential issues and provide constructive technical feedback.
• Investigate complex application defects and coordinate solutions with relevant engineering teams.
• Guide junior and mid-level developers on implementation practices, debugging and code quality.
• Participate in technical planning, feature estimation and discussions concerning application improvements.

Skills and Experience

• At least five years of professional front-end development experience, including work on production web applications.
• Advanced knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5 and CSS3.
• Strong experience with React or another modern front-end framework.
• Experience designing component-based applications and managing complex application state.
• Practical knowledge of REST APIs, asynchronous operations and front-end/backend integration.
• Understanding of web accessibility, responsive layouts and cross-browser development.
• Experience with Git, code review processes and collaborative software development.
• Familiarity with front-end testing tools such as Jest, React Testing Library or Cypress.
• Knowledge of build tools, package managers and modern front-end development workflows.
• Ability to assess technical trade-offs and make decisions that support long-term application maintenance.
• Strong debugging, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience mentoring developers and communicating technical decisions to different stakeholders.

Working Arrangements

This is a full-time position based in Waukesha, Wisconsin, with a standard Monday through Friday schedule. The Senior Front-End Developer will work closely with the engineering and product teams, contributing to application development, technical reviews and ongoing improvements.
