Overview

As a Senior Power BI & Power Platform Developer, you’ll design, build and govern enterprise reporting and low-code solutions across Power BI, Power Apps and Power Automate. You’ll turn business needs into secure, scalable data models, apps and automated workflows, and set technical standards for the wider team. Well-architected solutions will give colleagues trusted data, streamlined processes and faster decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead requirements gathering and design end-to-end solutions across Power BI, Power Apps and Power Automate
• Build and optimise enterprise semantic models, advanced DAX and Power Query transformations, and high-performing reports
• Develop canvas and model-driven apps on Dataverse, with sound data design, security roles and responsive UX
• Automate business processes with Power Automate, including approvals, integrations, error handling and monitoring
• Own deployment, ALM and governance: workspaces, environments, solutions, pipelines and the CoE/DLP policies that support them
• Mentor developers, run code reviews, and work with architects, IT and stakeholders through the SDLC

Requirements

Essential

• Significant commercial experience delivering enterprise Power BI and Power Platform solutions
• Advanced DAX (calculation groups, time intelligence, performance tuning with DAX Studio/Tabular Editor) and advanced Power Query (M)
• Strong data modelling: star schemas, composite models, incremental refresh, RLS/OLS
• Advanced Power Apps development, both canvas and model-driven, covering Dataverse design, Power Fx, components, delegation and security
• Advanced Power Automate, including complex cloud flows, custom connectors, HTTP/API calls, child flows, error handling and robust patterns
• ALM experience: managed solutions, environment strategy, deployment pipelines, and Git or Azure DevOps
• Solid SQL, plus experience integrating SharePoint, SQL Server, Dataverse and REST APIs
• Clear communicator who can explain technical design to stakeholders and lead delivery

Desirable

• Microsoft certifications: PL-300, PL-400, PL-600 or DP-600
• Microsoft Fabric experience, covering Lakehouse, Warehouse, Dataflows Gen2, pipelines and Direct Lake
• Azure services such as Data Factory, Functions, Logic Apps and Key Vault
• Power Automate Desktop (RPA), Copilot Studio or AI Builder
• Experience establishing a Power Platform CoE, governance frameworks or tenant administration
• Background in regulated sectors such as public sector, financial services or utilities
