About the Role

We are seeking a talented, creative Front End Developer to join our growing software engineering and digital services team in Dagenham. Operating out of our tech hub near the Eastbrook digital corridor and Dagenham Heathway (RM10), serving East London and Essex, you will build responsive, user-centric web applications and dynamic software interfaces for enterprise clients and digital platforms.

In this hands-on engineering role, you will bridge UI/UX design wireframes and scalable back-end services—translating modern design systems into clean, responsive, and accessible code while optimizing web performance and application workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Front-End Application Engineering: Design, build, and maintain responsive web interfaces using modern HTML5, CSS3/SASS, JavaScript (ES6+), and component libraries (React.js, Vue.js, or Angular).
• UI/UX Implementation: Collaborate closely with product managers and UI/UX designers to translate Figma/Adobe XD prototypes into pixel-perfect, accessible web components (WCAG compliance).
• API Integration: Connect front-end interfaces with back-end microservices, RESTful APIs, and GraphQL endpoints to power dynamic, data-driven applications.
• Performance & Core Web Vitals Optimization: Audit and optimize page loading times, rendering performance, and bundle sizes across web applications.
• Cross-Browser & Mobile Testing: Perform thorough cross-browser, cross-device, and responsive testing to ensure consistent layout, state management, and user experience.
• Version Control & CI/CD Pipelines: Use Git for code management, code reviews, and automated integration through continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 3+ years of commercial web development experience as a Front End Developer, Web Developer, or UI Developer within a software engineering firm or digital tech studio.
• Technical Stack:
• Core Skills: Deep proficiency in HTML5, CSS3/SASS, TypeScript/JavaScript (ES6+), and modern CSS frameworks (Tailwind CSS or Bootstrap).
• Modern Frameworks: Hands-on experience building single-page applications (SPAs) with React.js, Vue.js, or Next.js.
• Tools & Testing: Practical experience with Git, Webpack/Vite, REST APIs, and automated front-end testing tools (Jest, Cypress).
• Key Competencies: Strong UI/UX aesthetic, attention to performance optimization, clean code principles, and effective team collaboration.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Web Development, or equivalent practical industry experience.
• Location & Mobility: Ability to work from our Dagenham office (RM10 postcode area) on scheduled hybrid days.
